Kilo’s latest addition to the family, Netherfriends, has been infultrating the psych-pop scene for quite some time now. Front man and mostly solo composter, Shawn Rosenblatt, is one of those project driven, song writing super-machines, to put it mildly. Founded in Chicago, he set out on his ambitious 50 Songs 50 States project in 2011, and he did exactly what the title suggest. Netherfriends wrote and recorded a song as well as performed in each of the 50 States over the course of 2011. The band’s upcoming release on Kilo Records, Middle America, is the first full length from that project. It will be available on iTunes and digitally with limited edition wooden postcards for each state in February 2012.
